Looking through all your thoughts and looking over your shoulder. by mej2011

Looking through all your thoughts and looking over your shoulder.

I've had that song lyric stuck in my head for the past 3 days. The lyric is from the song "how to Love" originally done by Lil Wayne. I'm sure a lot of you have heard that version, but have you heard the Maria Zouroudis version? No? Listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCWjJbuEtN8
I'm not happy with this photo. I feel that too much emphasis is on the window and outside. I have another edit, in which the window is not noticeable, however, I feel that the face is too dark in that one. I don't think I'll ever get the hang of self portraits.
I can't believe you don't like this one! I think the composition is perfect and you look all aloof and mysterious. And I love the pale tones to it. Only thing I would request is if you were a little brighter, slightly less in the shadow, but otherwise, fav. This is a beautiful shot of you, and I would be very happy with a selfie like this. I can only seem to get "I'm a total crazy person" selfies.

Perhaps that's because you're a totally crazy person? Hmmmmmmm.
The reason I don't like this one is because it is so dark and shadowy, I couldn't figure how to fix it in processing. I took a second one that is even more dark and shadowy, but for some reason I like that one, I guess it fits the mood better of the song, but I didn't upload it because it's technically a crap photo.

However, upon viewing it again, I've decided that I like the shadows on you and the slight light falling on your face. I think it adds to the overall mystery I'm getting from this shot. Ignore what I said previously. See? I am a total crazy person.

Now that I look at it again, I don't mind it as much. Go figure.

Sorry Melissa for missing this one! I love how you very discreetly made me notice this picture :-) Definitely awesome awesome selfie, I faved. I totally love the shadows and the mystery in this shot, and the composition is really cool too. You could turn on a lamp which would highlight the shadowy side of your face just a bit + give a bit of sparkle in the eye. But I wouldn't change the overall exposure of this shot, I love it. Cool!

@janmaki
Discretion is my specialty. lol. Yesterday was really sunny, until my camera timer went off, then the sun went away, every single time I tried to take this shot. I should have thought about the lamp. silly me. I tried to make my face brighter using the highlight feature you told me about on picnik, but it only the window and outside brighter. I'm not sure anything would have helped make my eyes brighter, I think I am just not meant to get a decent eye shot. Thanks so much for comments and the fav! (also, you're getting warmer on what you're supposed to comment on.)
