I was attempting to take a photo of these old time Christmas light looking things (very descriptive, I know) and was apparently zoomed in too close to get a decent focus. This is the result. This shot is SOOC, done in manual mode.

@mej2011 Now that you've figured out the right camera settings to capture bokeh, I'll tell you this: there are three varieties of bokeh.
Bokeh is an aesthetic quality, and as such as certain desirable features. It is the aesthetic quality of out of focus points of light. Well...
Bad bokeh is when you have an out of focus point of light with a dark ring around the edge.
Standard bokeh is when you have an out of focus point of light that is evenly lit from the center to the edge. That's what this is, and is the most common type of bokeh is lenses available today.
Great bokeh is an out of focus point of light that gets darker from the center to the edge to the point the edge if almost invisible. This really depends on the lens and is rather difficult to achieve, which is probably what makes it the best.
You still nailed this one so great job. Now...take it one step further and impress us.
@jasonbarnette
Blah! Blah! Blah! lol. I know, but just let me bask in the glory of this progress for like 3 seconds, will ya? lol. I'm gonna fb you because I need foreground ideas.
@pwallis
I have not. I've seen a lot of bokeh shots though on here, and this doesn't compare. Thanks for the support though. :) Maybe if I can figure out how to get something in the foreground like Jason was talking about.
WOO HOOO for Happy Accidents. lol.
HEY! The fact that I got it is completely amazing! lol. I'm working on it. :) Thanks!

You know what you're problem is? You're never satisfied. lol.

Four, five, six...your photo won't load in Firefox. Wait...that doesn't rhyme.
Oh give it a rest. :)
Stupid firefox.......
Thank You!
Happy Dance!!!!! lol. Thanks!
I should enter this in this wee's theme, just to be silly.
Um.....because it still is pretty crappy bokeh.

Thank you Rebecca!
Of course?! What was I thinking? lol
Well, it's nothing like your bokeh shots, but thank you for the kind words!
