I plan to spend some time working in GIMP today (stupid crappy looking blended photos), so I decided to upload a photo I took yesterday.
I've never done a ladybug shot, so I figured now(yesterday) was as good a time as any.
Editing consisted of a crop, black and white effect, and selective color in Picnik. I'm not sure I like the composition, I feel as if the ladybug should be more to the left, however when I tried that I felt as if the focus was the branch and not the bug. What do you think?
I really really like what you've done with the selective colour here, but I think I might have flipped the shot completely upside down. That's only because I prefer composing my subjects to the right though. so that one's all about personal preference. Have fun in GIMP! I've been playing in PS like crazy the past few days:)
@pwallis
What is colour???? Never heard of it. :P
Flipped it around, so the ladybug is right side up? I tried that, but then the branches looked really weird.
Fun+GIMP should NEVER go together in the same sentence. lol. Thanks!

I tried that, but the focus of the photo looked off to me, then.
Thanks!
I wonder why they're called birds in other countries....Thanks!
Remind me never to learn to speak Finnish. That looks really complicated. lol
Why would it be good for the ladybug to be hiding?
Makes sense, I thought you were going to say it was something in reference to weather or something.
Thanks!
Thanks Kammy!
