Variations

I wanted to show the different types of finches seen in my yard. Of course the birds had another plan, and decided that one of the gold finches would look away so I can't tell if it's male or female. The yellow are Gold Finches ( I believe the one facing the camera is a male), the gray-ish is a female House Finch, and the red is a male House Finch.
Editing consisted of a crop in Picnik.
What colourful little birds

awesome collection, melissa! i don't think we've seen house finches here but last year we had dozens of redpolls which look very similar.

Fun shot! Is there always a lot of birds or was this a rare occasion?

@janmaki
If seeing 4 birds at once is a lot of birds, then yes there is always a lot of birds in my yard, except for the times when there are none. lol

That's gorgeous and I like your feeder.... I should get me one of those. Although the spoggies and the dump ducks have already found my feed tray for the chook and the ducks. Hmmm?

@bobfoto
spoggies, dump ducks, chook? I have no idea what any of those are.

@mej2011 - Spoggies are what we call Sparrows or House Finches, Dump Ducks are Australian White Ibis or Sacred Ibis and my Chook is known as Julia and she is a Chicken. :D
