I shot this one on manual mode. When I tried shooting on one of the programmed modes, I couldn't get a clear enough focus. I was able to get a decent focus on manual mode, but it seemed as if there was too much light and the pattern on the butterfly kept getting lost.
Therefore, editing consisted of a crop and tweaking of the exposure in picmonkey. Opinions please!
Ooooh I like what you have done here. I like the composition and I like that the focus is the flower and that the b'fly is complimentary. Nice work Melissa :)
It's hard to expose for such whiteness as that without losing the pattern. But I think you did what I would have done, which is to drop the exposure a bit in post-processing? I'm sensing a bit of a green theme in your project these days:)

Sorry, I just saw this comment. lol. At times I change the sharpness, but I generally don't like to as the photo then does not look as I saw it with my eye.

I made the exposure darker, so if that is called "dropping the exposure" then yes. lol.
