@mej2011 - actually, it is too young to tell, but seeing as it looks a very young plant, the male flowers tend to appear first... and you are in Spring so I'd back him being a he.
@mej2011 - not all, but some. The majority have both sexes, but there are some weird and wonderful tales out there. Many of the Pine trees will have both male and female flowers on the same tree, but at different locations, say the male flowers at the bottom and the female flowers at the top. Wind will help in pollination.
But with curcubits to which this flower may be, the flowers look similar but the female flower has an enlarged ovary where the seed or pumpkin will form. Some gardeners will take a male flower and wander around the garden hand-pollinating the females, in order to guarantee a crop and in case there are not many bees around.
@mej2011 - it does look zucchini-esque or maybe a squash? If so, then they definitely have male and female flowers.
While I do have a large garden with flowers, I prefer to think that I have a planet with flowers. It doesn't matter if it is in someone else's garden, the flowers are pretty cool. Their life and times can be pretty intriguing.
He? lol Thanks!
Interesting. I can honestly say I've never thought of flowers having genders.

I believe this is a curcubit, I think it's on a zucchini plant. You have a large flower garden?
