Leftovers

Today I really felt like I was back at square one in terms of photography. I took 56 photos and most of them had not great focus, others seemed too dark. I tried using auto, guide, aperture, and manual modes. This shot was in auto mode using a 55-200 lens.

Editing for this shot consisted of a light brown tone sepia in Ribbet.
Lovely pov, Melissa, along with the faint bokeh in the background. Thanks for the follow. Following back. :)

We all have those days :-(. I like this, though. I love the sepia tones.

I like it, too. It's much more interesting with the background out of focus.

Had manys days like that and have taken plenty of bird and others pictures that I have binned. and still will!
You do not always want everying in focus the backgound looks good like this, remember have fun playing around with the settings and it will all fall in to place.
Have you seen this before? http://www.karltaylorphotography.co.uk/free-photography-tips-tutorials.htm

This is a lovely shot Melissa. Don't despair, about the "hit and miss". You are learning a new camera. It will take time to get used to. I have days where nothing I try seems to work the way I want it to. Usually when I'm tired, distracted or uninspired - or when I'm too excited to hold the camera steady. ;) Keep going!

Thanks so much for the link Martin, I had not come across that site and have signed up for the 14 day trial. You're right about there being many "ho hum" days as far as photography goes, I think I'm still just a little overwhelmed by my new camera.

Too excited to hold the camera? I'm not sure I've had that feeling. :) Thanks for the words of encouragement, much appreciated!

Also, I am happy with the blurry background, I was going for that type of look, I just wish the focus and light was better on the seed.

Hey, I'm your get pushed partner for next week. I see you tend to shoot a lot of birds and outdoors, so my challenge for you is an indoor macro or close-up shot. I hope that is OK. :)
