Pearls, no diamonds

I've decided to jump back into the "Get Pushed" challenge this week. My partner this week, @justaspark , pushed me to do an indoor macro or close up shot.
As I am working with a new camera, I wasn't sure exactly how to start this challenge so I thought "well why not start with close up mode" so that's what you've got here. The focus is really nice and I love the reflection but I think I need a more shallow depth of field (is shallower a word?) I will try this again hopefully before Sunday.
Editing consisted of Photoshop Elements 12 Deep Copper effect. Photograph taken March 11th 2014. 18-55 Lens

lovely light and reflections... pearls really do have a rather glorious iridescence, don't they (even if perhaps they are not as translucent has i had hoped ;p)
