I lost my great aunt almost three weeks ago and I lost my uncle last night.Needless to say, I've been doing a bit of crying lately. Today when I got weepy eyed I was determined to not cry, so what is a girl to do? Put on mascara and sit in front of a camera! lol.
I actually did this shot with every aperture level available in Aperture mode and didn't really like any of them. They all really looked the same to me. Also, I didn't realize until I was pretty much done that my ISO was really high, but I kind of like the grain look here. Editing consisted of converting to black and white in Photoshop Elements 12, then converting to high key, and finally a crop in Ribbet. Shot with a Nikon D3200 and a 18-55 lens
No need to comment really, sadly this was all I shot today and I really need to get back into the swing of shooting and posting with some sort of routine, so this will have to do.
Sorry for your losses, Melissa. But you got a really nice selfie out of the feeling, and I really like the high key monochrome edit. (But hey, don't hold back the tears, you need to get them out of your system! It's a part of life, bawling your eyes out when you're sad. *hugs*)
@janim
Thanks so much! I actually like the eyes pretty well here too. I need to work on getting better focus on my eyes when I do selfies. I hope you're doing well!
I am trying not to cry right now. Beautiful photo of my Beautiful daughter! Wonderful tribute to a Wonderful Guy. I know Uncle Mike is smiling down on you! I Love you!
Thanks so much Graham and Candace!

Thanks so much! I'm tired of crying, I've been doing it for what seems like forever...
