The Skunk Cabbage Abides. by meotzi

The Skunk Cabbage Abides.

Buried in the frozen mud of the swamp, it waits for February when it will melt its way through the snow and open its heated flower hood to give shelter for any passing pollinators that might happen to be about. Skunk Cabbage is cool. Smelly. But cool.
I have never heard or seen such a plant. An interesting photo and love the snow.
