Belfry by mimiducky

Belfry

Today's Travel Tuesday brings us to Gembloux, in the southern part of Belgium (I lived in a nearby village for several years). This belfry has a lovely bulb roof typical of the region and houses a large clock and a full set of bells. Originally part of a larger church, the tower was altered to serve as a watchtower as early as the 16th century. Today, only the tower remains - the church was demolished in the 1800s.
Nice tower.
