This lovely flower is actually a weed known as Spanish Needle. It spreads everywhere at an alarming rate and is impossible to completely eradicate. We are constantly pulling these out of the ground but more come up - and they can reach upwards of 6 ft! On the plus side, bees and butterflies love them so at least they make someone happy. ;)
