Mamma bird protecting her eggs....

which will be babies. I actually thought one of the eggs was starting to open but on closer look, I see it is just a dandelion. This is for today's word of "baby animals." This is a killdeer bird.

What a great shot and a beautiful bird. I have never seen one like this. Hope the babies arrive ok. We had a Robin nest from last year in our yard, doves took it over this year and left before they laid any eggs. I was hoping for babies.
