Abandoned wasp nest

This is high in a tree in my back yard.

I didn't realise wasps nested in trees.... Thought they chose lower down sites.... Interesting capture!

@pamknowler Thank you Pam. The wasps do not return to the same nest. This nest will disintegrate over the winter and will not hold up.
