My tree in August

I've secretly adopted this tree (in a nearby park) and am going to try to take a series of shots throughout the year to follow its progression through the seasons. The first one I took of it was in July.

Wonderful idea. Have you seen this: http://thattree.net/ I first saw him on CBS Sunday Morning about a yr ago and have followed him ever since. Every photo he's taken involves that same tree. It's like "why didn't I think of that?" :-)

@pyrrhula Thank you Pyrrhula. I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's a Sugar Maple tree. I'll have to look at the leaves a little closer and see if I can figure out exactly what kind it is.

@mittens Thanks . it`s very difficult if yoy don`t know it . I`ve a book of Acer`s ( Maple`s) that says there are more then 120 species.
