Crocus by mittens

Crocus

I was surprised to see these little flowers at the side of the road at this time of year. I think its mixed up. LOL They are a spring flower.
I guess they never got the memo.

Uh oh- definitely a bit confused! But I have seen them do that in my garden too. I think it has to do with when the bulb was planted- but that could be my imagination at work! Good catch.

There are autumn crocuses too! They’re actually from a different plant family but they look very similar.
Lovely shot of these little beauties.

Ha! Ha! These flowers are frauds. I was fooled for the first time too. Now I know that it is Colchicum autumnale, commonly known as autumn crocus. Lovely shot.

Great find and beautiful shot. I think this has been a crazy year for the plants. A zinnia in my garden seeded itself at the end, almost, of Summer and now it has started to bloom.
