Reused Computer Junk Art

Yesterday, I was out all day.

First I was off to the QML (Queensland Medical Labs) to drop off something to them. Then, I went to donate a box of goodies to Life Line Super Store at Logan Central... that went well... and then I looked at some of their gas-lift stools for my new work bench. I thought they were great, but a bit on the expensive side.

Then, after talking to Mum and Dad about them and chatting to the lady at Life Line (who wouldn't go down in price because of the GST, after she claimed that Life Line purchased the stools and they had pay tax on them), I thought to leave them and go and buy a brand new gas-lift stool somewhere else, I dropped in on a friend of mine at his home studio - Doug Cartwright.

Doug Cartwright is a leadlight artist. If you've seen the Narnia Chronicles and the Dawn Treader installment, you've seen his work up close. Doug did all the leadlighting in the Captain's quarters of the ship, including the doors and the back windows of the quarters and anything that was leadlight in the quarters... yep, I'm friends with the guy who did all that; and he lives in Logan City.

Well, I hung out with him yesterday afternoon and we fiddled with old computer components and I came up with this creation. It doesn't work on anything really, you have to spin everything around, so it's just fun and colour, but it fills negative space and - you'll notice - that everything in it is touching. :D
What a great idea

@bkbinthecity @wendyfrost Compared to what Doug normally does, using recycled gear to make art isn't really him... he's best known for his leadlighting.
