Keep Moving UP!

First I would like to thank everyone for the awesome comments & encouragements & Fav's on the "water colors" photo. I really appreciate it so much!

The stairs in the photo above was one of those types that as you finally reached the top you noticed there is another set to climb. It would be too easy to turn around & go backwards. Going backwards is rarely the best option in life. It is my goal to grow personally, professionally, in my walk with God, and as a photographer.

Do you want to climb some stairs? You know what your own personal goals are, you will get there by moving up not down.
Love the symbolism of the stairs with your walk in life. This is a great mantra to live life by and a great photo too...

great shot, love how the steps still pop out lovely greenery notwithstanding. i've been told that climbing up the stairs is a lot better for your knees (or my knees) than going down, which i find true, only the lazy so-and-so in me prefers to take the escalators. now it's a different ballgame when i am climbing with someone, because then we talk and i'd forget i'd climbed to the top of the CN tower in less than 40 minutes. you can imagine how big a slice of cake i'd feast on after. great job.

Beautiful POV and shot, Kathy! Love your narrative, too! Say a prayer and cross your fingers! I have a pre-screening phone interview tomorrow afternoon. I hope they will like what they hear so I can interview face to face. I want to be a part of working class folks again!

@marlboromaam I will say a prayer as soon as I'm done typing this.
I own a professional search firm so here is a little to think about in prep for your phone interview:
1) They want to know if you can do the job. Sounds basic I know but read the job description & be prepared to offer examples of various points. Don't gloss over the area's you may not have had experience - you will need to demonstrate you can learn. (If your phone interview is with HR it will probably not be real detailed in this area).
2) They want to know that you really want the job. Again, sounds basic but if they think you will probably leave within a short period of time they will be uneasy. If you are possibly over qualified you will need to be prepared to reassure them that this is what you picture yourself doing for a long time.
3) They are looking for culture fit, personality, etc. Look at the job description again are there key words such as fast paced environment (be prepared to talk about that) also are they key words such as motivated, organized, etc. be prepared to give examples on how you stay organized
etc.
4) Smile during the phone screen, you don't want to come across with a chip on your shoulder, or depressed etc. Employers want to hire "happy" employees.
5) Do your research. Be sure to look at their website.
6) When interviewing too long or too short answers are both bad. Say a one sentence answer. give a brief example of what you mean and then restate your answer. Don't go all over the map and talk about everything else than what is actually being asked. Don't just give too short of an answer either.

Beautiful aspirational shot

@myhrhelper Thank you, Kathy! All good points! I'm so glad you reminded me!

I know this company. It's a household name. Unfortunately, my education and nearly all of my work experience are totally unrelated to this job. I will have to pull from my teenage years of working in a tomato packing house. It's a warehouse associate job. Can you guess who the household name is? I'm not complaining though! I just want to work and will be happy with what I can get at my age in this economy.

I was told by someone else who works for them in Kentucky that most everyone is my age or older. It would seem that the employer appreciates an "old fashioned" protestant work ethic. I don't think they'll be too worried I'll leave them, if they hire me. I think they'll be pleased with my attitude and I understand that employees are way too busy pulling items and packaging them to have any time to schmooze around with other people. I've never used a hand scanner but, I'm sure it's not hard to figure out. A long time? How about until I'm 70 or older if I'm able to keep going that long. I am over qualified but, they're hiring people with Master's Degrees and in my age group. If they like me, I'll get a face to face, and have to pass the drug and background check which is no problem.

Great perspective Kathy. That's a lot of stairs, but you tackled them well.

I think it would be fun to climb these stairs. Very pretty! Yes I'm climbing some other stairs too, also always wanting to grow spiritually and as a Mom and wife too.
