Yikes - Hornets!!! This week's theme is scary - It just doesn't get any scarrier than this!
(story below is not based on an actual event, but what could easily have been)
I saw some rustling in the bush right next to where I stood.
I turned my head and there he was with his long legs. He had a mean reputation, with his vicious attracts and has even been known to kill.
He stabs his victim with his sharp piercing venomous stings repeatedly. I knew he's one to stay clear away from.
Just then he turned his long lanky body and I noticed his big beady eyes. My heart raced, palms sweat, oh I pray he doesn't notice that I am standing right next to him. He came even closer to where I was standing and then I realized, he was not alone. If they did come at me I would be no match to their lightning fast speed and their relentless attacks. Many people are not afraid, but I know better, I know what they are capable of.
Just then, he flew by my head. I yelled a schrilling scream but that didn't stop him. I dropped my camera and scooped it back up as quickly as I could racing toward the car. Once inside I was safe - at least for now.
With this weeks scary theme - nothing is more scary to me than hornets & wasps!
