Three........ 3 Gifts....... 3 More Days to complete Year One

Many people think there were 3 wise men but it doesn't say there were 3 people, the scriptures says they presented Him with 3 types of gifts -

Gold, representing deity, indicated that these men recognized it was the Son of God whom they now worshiped.

Frankincense was part of that specially compounded perfume used in the tabernacle worship and which represented the rare richness and fragrance of the presence of the Lord. Common people were forbidden to make it and it was to remain very sacred and holy.

They also presented myrrh which was always a type of suffering. God through the Baby was, myrrh was to be a true symbol of the new life into which He was now born: "a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief". Jesus suffered for us.

very enlightening and interesting. Beautiful picture too!

they also weren't present at the birth. They didn't arrive until after Christ's presentation in the temple (according to Luke).. he would have been 2 or 3 yrs old.

Yes it is true, so we just do the best we can and its also funny how nice and protective our managers always look too, but in reality it was probably a cold and smelly stall, unprotected from the weather, the most unlikely place for a King.
