Once upon a time, so very long ago there was a land of Broccoli. Broccoli grew everywhere and it grew as tall as trees. But the children in the land were not very happy because they hated broccoli.
My get-pushed challenge was from Taffy R: She said: @taffy Wow -- you have done so many different challenges and your photos are wonderful. I like your portraits a lot, and your sense of design. I REALLY like your most recent water shot. So envious of your filter!! For your challenge this week, a choice between:
1. Food -- but the twist is it has to be something fairly mundane that you make appealing through your art/photography
@taffy Here is the response to the mundane food. This challenge was surprisingly challenging for me. I had so many ideas - I was going to photograph a child holding an umbrella and have it rain Cheerios but there were no children to kidnap that could help me. Then I was going to do a food charecter which I thought would be very easy but it turned out looking stupid so I scratched that idea. Then I looked at a piece of broccoli and remember how I told my children (they knew I was teasing) that broccoli was like little trees and that got my wheels turning. I know it is sortof stupid but this is what I came up with.
Kathy, you are brilliant!! I love what you have done. It's so clever and fun, and the image itself works really well. I'm so envious you have met the challenge. I'm down to a focus on shoes and hope to enlist my niece tomorrow. I have had NO good ideas and am so frustrated, then saw @Northy 's absolutely perfect shoe image today and wish it had been mine!!
@taffy Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. Some times I wonder if a shot is really good or totally ridiculous.
Oh I wish I would have given you a different option but here are a few possibilities: You could have someone wear the shoes. You could just take worn out shoes and set them somewhere that draws attention to them or tells a story by them being there. You could do an abstract or macro shoe shot. You could have the shoes be an a transportation craft for other characters. You could have little people (if you have them I don't) climbing on them. You could line up a bunch of shoes and have one pair totally out of place. You could find mud and have your niece where one shoe and the other bare foot in mud. I know you will think of something - perhaps I'm helping you get some ideas.
@myhrhelper You are being too good to me!! What I wish I would have done was captured my shoes on the loooong escalator at DFW on Friday. I thought of it too late as my plane was boarding. If I can do it on the way back tomorrow, I'll post just under the wire, but I want something to use earlier in the day to be safe! I miss Danbo!! I should always bring him with me as he ALWAYS helps out in this kind of situation. But you've given me some great ideas to work with!!
