Today my parents went to Paris with my friend's parents, leaving me, her and my two brothers behind! It's the first time we've really been left by ourselves for the weekend before but we haven't burnt the house down yet!
We woke up late, went into Leeds, went round some shops, it was nice! I successfully bought some bits and bobs we needed for dinner and cooked it. I've also managed to run and empty the dishwasher twice and run the washing machine, woooo xD Also, the kitchen is now actually tidy and clean, unlike the mess that the adults left us this morning...! Also, this evening we cooked popcorn because my brothers and friend wanted to watch a movie and they all like popcorn but we can't have it when Dad's around because the smell of it makes him feel sick. I can't say I like it much but each to their own!
It's really weird because when we were in town...it's like being a child/teenager. but also, it's especially weird for me because I don't really get out much so I don't have many of the sort of 'town with friends' experiences so it's a bit weird in some ways! But yeah, that was like being a teenager...then at home doing the whole washing/cooking/cleaning/locking up business...that's like being an adult. So it's a weird sort of inbetweeny type thing, anyway, ramble over :p
Naomi,,,from what I have seen of you here, you will do just fine. You seem very responsible. I am sure your parents know that or they would never have left you and went so far. So you should be proud. Have a great time.
Love the popcorn photo! You did a great job of capturing all it's goodness. Have fun being on your own. I remember the first time my parents left me alone for the weekend. It was so fun to play house.
This would be the type of picture that Orville Reddenbacher would pay good money for...talk about selling popcorn!!! Enjoy your grown-up time with your friend and brothers, but make sure you play around and have fun, too!
