Went on a mini bike ride to Boston to the river today. It's been so hot!!! And the sky has been bright blue! This shot could have been better but I was worried about getting my camera wet... :/ When I got home, I looked through some prospectuses for unis. I've also emailed Leeds city council and another company because I've found something I'd love to do for a gap year but it's in London and I'm trying to find out if there's a similar scheme up North...
Tonight I'm babysitting one of the most amazing 10-year-olds I know. She's deaf and has cerebral palsy and currently has a cast on each leg due to an operation because her legs got tight. Yet she's so full of joy. We can learn a lot from children :]
great shot and loved the story. when i was in jr high i was part of a team that would take turns spending lunch hour with a girl with cerebral palsy to prevent her from teasing/bullying. and the experience that i had sounds similar in that she was one of the happiest most carefree people i have ever seen. completely full of joy! thanks for sharing!
I think this shot is pretty fantastic! I love the long exposure on the water. You are fortunate to be learning such a valuable life lesson at a young age. I still have to remind myself of this frequently.
Your babysitting sounds like fun, and I totally agree with what you said about learning from children.
What are you thinking of doing on a gap year? And what do you fancy doing at uni?
