'And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again'
Cropped.
Well today was...interesting. I cycled to Wetherby and back on my bike. Problem was, my brakes failed on the way back. Like, completely broke, and my steering wasn't great either. I tired to get home down the back roads as they're quieter, but at the end of one of the junctions was a car being stupid. I swerved to avoid it and ended up going up a verge, into a hedge and landing on my back. Luckily, I had a rucksack on and the fruit in it protected both my back and my camera. I got up and got back on my bike to go home. Near the end of my road, a bin lorry was coming straight at me, overtaking some cars. It was my right of way but it wasn't stopping. I couldn't stop so again, I swerved to avoid it, my wheel hit the pavement and I landed head first on the ground. By this point I was in shock, luckily the only injuries I got were cut up knuckles and a cut up knee (I managed to cut up my knee but make not a single hole in my tights, how impressive is that?! Tescos tights are clearly high quality!). I was quite shaken up though, I walked the rest of the way home and sorted myself out.
Then, I tried to make gummy bear cookies for my brother who's coming home tomorrow. Didn't work so well because the gummy bear bits all stuck to the paper so we have cookie bits instead :p Then just watched some TV and stuff. And defrosted the freezer. And I keep tripping over things. It's not my day!
great shot - love the contrast. Hope you're feeling OK now - twice off your bike in one day - NOT GOOD! better had get those brakes fixed pdq! hope tomorrow is better HUGS x
:( I'm sorry to hear about your rough ride home! I'm glad you are okay though, save for a few bumps and cuts and things. I hope you get your brakes fixed soon (or even a shiny new bike :D). This picture is ever so wonderful :) I love the clean, minimalist feel and the bright yellow and the delicateness of the petals.
Glad you made it home safely after all the bike adventures! That is a very impressive skill with the tights! Cookies taste good in bits as well as whole! Sounds like your day is a good excuse to sit on the sofa with some ice cream and a good movie and not move for the rest of the day!
Glad you're okay! I'll have to remember that about Tesco tights, lol. I go through a ton of tights in the winter. My daughter would love gummy bear cookies, I've never thought of trying that
OMG...really....did all thatt really happen to you..you are actually lucky that you did not receive more damage...i was freaked out reading your story..thank goodness you are okay. I assume your camera survived the 2nd crash landing? happy you walked home after that :) Great shot BTW..like your crop and the background
Oh no. What a day. Well, thank goodness you didn't get hit by the truck. Unfortunately you had a fall. I'm glad you weren't hurt badly.
This is a wonderful shot in spite of your day. :-) Tomorrow will be better.
I bet your brother loves the cookies.
yikes! glad you are okay despite your bike injuries (hopefully you can get your breaks fixed soon!!!) and i've never thought to put gummie bears in cookies but now really want to try that. i love the interesting and different composition here!
Love this photo, the use of the black background works really well :)
and your cycle sounds scary! It's bad enough being a cyclist in some places just with the other cars around, but I can't imagine doing it with broken brakes... I'm glad you're okay!

As far as this photo, the focus is spot on, perfect clarity. Just gorgeous!
