A big thing I'm working on in recovery is identity, decision making, working out what *I* want (rather than what I think others want me to want/be) etc. I needed to buy a hoover. I researched them a lot and as part of doing so, I text my Dad who responded with 'not a Dyson'. I went to the shop the other day and ended up buying a Dyson. It was reduced by £180, and is good for pets, long hair, asthmatics, and is pretty lightweight. I did get the man to talk me through every hoover (I was there an hour lol) but yes ended up with the Dyson. It has remained in my car ever since because all I could thing was that Dad said not to get a Dyson and I should take it back. Last night I posted my Dyson predicament on Tumblr and had about 8 comments full of Dyson support. So today I got it out of my car and unwrapped it and hoovered my room and oh my days it has never been so clean!!! So yes there we go, my Sunday morning recovery win and a nice little vacuum cleaner story for you all 😂
Also, since starting my hoover journal I have discovered that people are VERY opinionated on hoovers which is pretty funny.
