I saw a dietitian today, and basically, as suspected, I need to go lactose free to see whether it fixes the symptoms I'm having.
A bit of a nightmare on top of being a veggie and recovering from anorexia!!!
On the plus side, she said I'm doing really well - yay! I've also had a good day generally and also Lucky sat on me properly for the first time today, yay!
Glad you are feeling strong and ready to take on the new diet. Sounds like a challenge. My son's girlfriend is veggie, lactose free and gluten free. It always amazes me that she manages to keep so cheerful.
It's tough when you first start out with a new regimen like that but once you start feeling better it becomes more tolerable! Glad that your day went well and everything else is coming along. I'm heading more and more towards dairy free and glutten free- not that I absolutely have to with the dairy but they're both inflammatory and the less inflamation I have the better!
Well...what ever it takes to be healthy, right? On the plus side (maybe) this will be a new learning opportunity. So glad you are feeling good, Naomi! That makes me feel good:) Nice shot of the lactose free cheddar. How does it taste? Does it melt? I'm thinking nachos.
@pyrrhula thank you x @helenhall it's going to be a real challenge I think. But as my boss said today, life gives you lemons, make sours :') Then we discussed how gin was lactose free lol. @olivetreeann I hope so. Thank you :) Yes that's true! @365karly1 Thank you. It tastes the same! And it melted into the sauce I was making... However, I've discovered that normal cheddar has
i find this so interesting.....are you worried that lactose intolerance is a subconcsious way for you to reject food and therefore it is anorexia talking?? ( just trying to understand your worry here ) looking back at this the key thing you said is 'I need to go lactose free to see whether it fixes the symptoms I'm having.' so this is an experiment at this stage to see if cutting out lactose is in your best interests! if you can look at it that way you will feel more in control of the decision. , your dietician has your best interests at heart , some decisions you have to make around food are simply because it is the best thing for you lovey xxx
