Price, Wrap, Pack

Found myself signed up to be part of an Open Studio...feeling somewhat ambivalent about it.
I love that blue. If you're wrapping and packing then I assume that you have to take your work elsewhere?

people (me!) love real open studios - seeing where artists work - all the things they they collect that surround them - their books ... our big county-wide C-Art stuttered this year because not enough artists signed up - and yet they know the amount of sales it produces - when you don't have to give a gallery their percentage. Have you spoken to anyone who's done it?

@merrelyn @anniesue I have opened my studio up before for a pre Christmas sale, but this time another potter is opening hers (near by) and has invited others to be part of it. I have no idea how much advertising she has done, or how many people she expects, but I thought I “should” give it a go...

@narayani everything getting you out there is good!

Sounds like a good idea. Does it cost you anything (other than lots of bubble wrap)?

@seacreature one sale! 😩 only about 4 people came through and they came for the artist who’s studio it was whose work is very different from mine.

These are beautiful, disappointing about the open studio but I guess you have to try these things. Do you still have some of your work in Margaret River?

@jodies thanks Jodie. Yes I do...I think only 3 in Margaret River Gallery and a few in Payet Gallery.
