What a very special treasure. If it's silver, it would clean up well by putting it in a bowl on a piece of alfoil, sprinkle over some bicarb soda and pour over boiling water. I went to buy silver jewellery cleaner from a jeweller and that's what they told me to do.
@merrelyn thanks for that tip Merrelyn! You used to be able to buy a product - think it was called Silver Dip that was brilliant but I can’t find it anywhere anymore. The silver cleaning cloths don’t work particularly well.
