so... what did i do? well, it's a photo of my boy, holding a knife... worked the light so it was shining off the knife... in LR made two versions... one declarified, the other clarified...
took both into PSE... inverted the one that was clarified... layered the declarified one on top, applied a layer mask and then exposed the inverted versions of my kid's face and arm...
then to silver fx to render in bw... added vignette with centre over bottom of the knife...
then to colour fx for vignette blur, some negative glow for coldth and some nd filtering...
soooooo... did i edit the crap outta this or what???
many tx for all the wonderful feedback and favs on my bike shot from yesterday... :)
well, you lost me at "clarified" (which made me think of butter and seafood, considering the centre of attraction here is the knife, so the old brain got into food mode) and could not comprehend the rest of your text but i think i can summarize it in 6 letters: ETSOOI! :-) super, kiddo!
@summerfield i think the clarity slider in lightroom is supposed to do increase contrast in the midtones... increasing clarity gets you crystal clear eyes... decreasing clarity softens things a lot... does wonders for the skin ;p
Super cool effect! You know your way around the editing programs. I would have no idea how to achieve this. Very creative shot. I bet your son loved it! I know mine would. :)
Those eyes. Those eyes. Aaaaaaaaaaghh *runs from room*
