i have *no* idea where this comes from or what it signifies... other than the fact that this is a statement one of my 11 year olds interjects into the conversation when he is trying to change the subject... first world problems, doncha know ;p
i would say i am not a fan of "sooc", but the reality is that i just don't believe in the concept... i'll make my own decisions on settings and processing thank you very much - whether they are applied before or after i press the shutter...
i have set the picture style to a user-defined monochrome with extra sharpening and contrast...
This is so reminiscent of some course I went on where the first exercise was to choose a potato, make friends with it, then introduce it to the rest of the group. I can't remember anything about the course, but I can remember that exercise. (It would have been on child development and the exercise was about individuality.)
SOOC is lovely idea but every shot gets a little better with a touch of processing. My opinion. For me I am still trying to learn to make good choices before I snap. Your potato has personality - eyes, nose, belly button.
FAV! Who else could make such a great shot of a potato? Processing can be so frustrating, but I agree with you about SOOC. Why would we leave artistic decisions to a bunch of software geeks who have programmed the camera?
@shannejw ok - that's pretty wild! Sounds like a great exercise :)
@sueb47 tx Sue... I use a cheap ikea gooseneck lamp :)
Very cool shot as usual love your lighting :)
