another one from the weekend... i was aiming for symmetry in landscape for week 5 of the Dogwood challenge... i was struggling with this prompt... the images i saw online were mostly going for reflection shots, or photoshopped to create mirror images... there were no reflections to be had on Sunday, and nothing i saw really inspired me to want to muck about in PS... i think this image sort of has some symmetry to it... it's half iced water and half sky, both are rather mottled grey... and the break between the ends of the marina is pretty much smack dab in the middle... i do think the curve on the shore at the right hand side kind of messes with the symmetry thing, but this may be as close as i'm going to get for now...
I can see what you're driving at here, and IMO it works well in an artistic and/or abstract fashion. I find your low pov shows off the random shapes of the ice with the edges well delineated. I like it very much.
*t's a lovely image whether it's symmetrical or not, really captures the ice. I found a couple of symmetrical options but neither was natural - one was a tree-lined driveway and the other was a copse of trees on top of a hill with grassland edged with a hedge on one side and a wood on the other, so I could balance the image.
I thought symmetry in landscapes was going to be hard to find but you managed.
