In the part of the former Player Cigarette factory which is being converted to Student Housing a fire broke out on Monday lunch time and is still burning. The Salvation Army emergency vehicle has been in attendance since then with different teams of people manning it. This evening I was there for a couple of hours serving hot and cold drinks, bacon and sausage sandwiches etc to the firefighters, police and ambulance personnel.
The first picture is us at the end of our shift and the other shows part of the building that is on fire.
@susiemc Yes Sue, they are so grateful to be able to get drinks and food, often taking chocolate bars and drinks back to those manning the pumps.
Bacon Sandwiches are the favourite.
