Its Memorial Day weekend in the US. A time to remember all who served and died defending our freedom. This shot was taken in Point Loma, CA. A prime piece of San Diego ocean front property. It was a bit hazy when this shot was taken but you can almost make out the Coronado bridge in the background. A very proper place for our solders to rest!
A small dedication and memorial.
Great photo & tribute to the brave ... are these WW11 / Vietnam war graves or more recent fallen jerry ? .... Our remebrance day in the UK is November 11th each year .. (the 11th hr of the 11th day of the 11th month, ) far too many guys are still falling overseas, two more british soliders were killed yesterday in afghanistan ..
this is GOOOORGEOUS!!! i love the brightness of the photo...it really makes it look like an EVEN MORE peaceful place for those soldiers to be. Those trees are perfect for that spot too! lovely photo!!
@steveh Thank you so much, Steve! These graves cover many years. There is an old section from the 1800's! I'm going to look up the history of Nov 11 just to get familiar with your history! Awesome shot, the symmetry really draws you in.
There are immense fields like these in Belgium and France too, both with heastones and crucifixes. Very impressive.
