This hotel and I have a little history...
Back in my hay day I lived down town San Diego on Cortez Hill which was a small area of down town that was fairly undeveloped. The El Cortez was a historic hotel that ruled its time with glamor and scandal! It was a big place for mobsters and who knows what. When I lived by this place it was boarded up and abandoned. One foolish night me and a friend decided we wanted to see the inside. Sooo Dave I and a bottle of Jack made our way to the very top of this thing! Boomerang shaped bar, vintage wall paper and a killer view! What a night! Now it is restored and a fully operational set of condos!
This is the second wide angle lens shot so I guess its a good time to start my personal challenge! One week without removing this lens from my camera. Like I've said before, I have a love hate relationship with this thing and I'm ready to give it a go! I've seen the typical wide angle shots and I need something more...
I love this shot, This photo reminds me of the movie the Shadow. Excellent challenge. Would join you but my wide angle is bust, need to buy a new lens.
3 in a row....what are you going to bring me tomorrow. your perspective is amazing..the sky..wow..and the two palms to set the scene. perfection (ok there are 3 but the two top ones... :) )
Great shot and great memories. Also I can see the weather was a bit iffy. While watching the SF Giants play San Diego I saw it started to rain.
Didn't know it rained this time of year in San Diego.
