I had a different plan for my SOOC shot today but some startling news made me change my direction! Junior Seau, a all star pro bowl linebacker from our home football team, the Chargers, was found dead this morning from an apparent suicide! He was very active in the community and a role model for many!
Such a shame with all his gifts and blessings to end this way!
This is a shot of his restaurant he opened in San Diego. The front door was lined with flowers and trinkets left by adoring fans! R.I.P Junior Seau... http://365project.org/discuss/general/12282/one-night-stand-challenge
I have been in a little bit of shock all day. :( I just can't seem to wrap my head around "suicide" when I think of Junior Seau. :( And his mother and her interview...very near killed me.
I was so sad to hear the news as well. I loved him when he played for the Patriots, and he seemed like a great guy on and off the field. Wonderful tribute.
I think this was a perfect shot for you to post. Such shocking and heartbreaking news. Even though I am a Bronco fan which as you know is a big rival of San Diego, I truly respected him as a player; he was so good! How sad.
That's just sad, Jerry. I will never understand why someone in such a position and circumstance would ever do such a thing. I often wonder, if one kind word from someone he knew or ran into might've prevented it, too. It just always pays to treat people with kindness, even if you've had a lousy day... you never know what ugly words will drive them over the edge... or what kind word will prevent them from taking their own life. People can be bricks or balloons in the lives of others. Better to be a balloon and lift others up!
I heard this on the radio news way down here yesterday, I didn't know him from a bar of soap but sad to hear he is from your home team and a good sort, sad news indeed.
@marlboromaam It is such a hard thing to wrap your head around! People assume when you have wealth and fame there couldn't be anything wrong in your life! I couldn't agree with you more about the kind words! Great comment, Maggie!
