I'm working a job out in the middle of nowhere right now! On my drive home I spotted this fireplace standing alone on this hill. So, being the dedicated 365er that I am, I pulled over and hiked through the snakes and weeds to get a shot! Standing in that opened field surrounded by old beer cans, I had to think about how there was a time that I would have been standing in a warm room or maybe sitting in a comfy chair with a glass of brandy...the opened field with the old beer cans was pretty cool too! ;)
There is a story behind chimney ruins and beer cans, perhaps a happy ending. This is a wonderful cover for that book. I have already read your first chapter.
Love the light in this and the clouds and branches look a bit like rising smoke. It reminds me a little of the abandoned tin mines in our county of Cornwall .
Great photo Jerry, love the processing! If you don't mind me asking, what lenses do you use with your 7D? I use a 7D myself and I am in the process of getting some quality glass!
@domstarr My favorite lens is my Canon 10-22mm! I also have a 100mm macro, a 50mm 1.4 and the kit lens 28-135mm. I still have a handful of lenses on my wish list!
@orangecrush I was looking at the 10-22mm but I think I may settle for the Tokina 11-16mm because it's over £100 cheaper! Just got myself the 70-200mm f4 L lens, and I'm getting the Canon 17-55mm for christmas which I really can't wait to use! I only have the 50mm 1.4 like yourself, at the moment
love it! the brandy & or beer too... always like those abandoned homesteads scattered across the conutry whether it's a lone fireplace or part of a wall, always worth a picture or two!
