Thats not a Goldfinch, but a female Siskin, still a member of the Finch family though. A nice find.

@markp Thank you so much. I hadn’t noticed that my flocks of goldfinches and the occasional green finches had been joined by Siskins. I hope I’ll be visited by males too.

@orchid99 They don't always hang around. I have had them present for most of the year, before now, but recently I only tend to see any in my garden for a couple of days in early spring and autumn as they migrate through. Hope they stick around for you, they are pretty little birds.
