Heavenly creatures

What a morning, aaaaaaargh! Chaos. We went for a walk but it wasn't a walk, it was a fight who could push the pram. Not together, oh no, that was not an option. Then Roz didn't want to be in the pram anymore and screamed her head off. And I was thinking why didn't I carry her in the baby bjorn as I usually do. In the meantime the pram went down hill. Sep crying that he lost the pram. By that time I was carrying Roz in my arms. Lev crying because he couldn't close the gate behind him.

Okay, lets try inside, upstairs. But while I was tidying up the wash in their bedroom, they emptied the drawers with linen in the other room. Now really grumpy I stuck the linen back in the drawers, but in the meantime the eldest got the toothbrushes and toothpaste out the bathroom and here I caught them, in the window sill. Their legs already in motion, off for more mischief. And toothpaste everywhere. And we're only half way the day!

Quickly set the camera to high key exposure, it's almost SOOC, I only added a cinemascope filter (Picasa).
Love the background and motion. And the backstory!!

Saxa I ooze sympathy, I can relate....... I take comfort in that one day we WILL look back and mourn these beautiful, crazy, mad, frustrating, tiring, long, happiness, tear filled days. Hoping the day improves.

I love the story. Just be careful with shoe polish. When my two were little they decided to give me a lovely birthday present. They polished the kitchen, everywhere, with black boot polish! Ugh

@ceilidh thanks Margaret for the fave!

Aw, Saxa, sounds like you've had a truly tough day! Mischief and naughtiness all day! Let's hope the future doesn't includes the same type of bickering haha! A wonderful capture nonetheless, all you needed to top the day off was them to complain about their photo being taken! x

When you say set settings to high key, can you explain what these are. Always wwondering how people manage high key shots. Love this one of yours.
May 3rd, 2014
@macromover I change ISO, shutterspeed and aperture, in this case ISO 200, 0.2 s and f3.8. I already had a lot of back light from the window. They're is a thread about this: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/20730/technique-challenge-19-high-key

But to be honest, I just experiment and often don't know exactly what I'm doing :-)

@overalvandaan thanks saxa and for your honesty. Sometimes are accidental shots are the best. Thanks for the link too.

Oh Saxa, you're priceless! Just watching my daughter, Ashley, try to wrangle her two boys, I have such great respect for you and your brood of chicks! I guess you had to laugh that I was "proud of the fact" the TWO of us did a fine job entertaining a single one-year-old today! I'm glad you can laugh at the crazy moments and remember to capture them with your camera! "Ashley" whom I just mentioned. At about 18 mo, I have picture of her with a bowl of spaghetti & sauce on her head...and another time I had to get the phone when icing a cake... I leave it to you to guess what I found when I returned! Let's just say it was "a camera moment"! Enjoy...it goes SO fast!

@Weezilou thanks for your lovely comment and fave, Louise, much appreciated. Don't talk about food being everywhere apart from on the spoon :-)
May 3rd, 2014
@overalvandaan Let me top THAT one for the day! I'm getting ready to sit and feed Dylan...Ashley walks in with a plate of scrambled eggs for Ashton...I gesture, clip the plate with my knuckle and the plate flies and crashes on the tile floor mixing broken china & scrambled eggs across the room...and everyone's still in bare feet! Yes, it's one thing to have small children sending food everywhere, but you'd think I would be past that stage! Perhaps that's when someone came out with the "Mommalie", "Do as I say, not as I do!"

Have a good weekend! It's time I call it a night!

Awesome shot, Saxa. Love the highkey and the motion blur. Love the story, too - my grandson who is with us very often is not much different to those two, he's quite a handful.
