Love your focus on the foreground which explains the action going on in the background. I have lots of cleavers growing through my hedge - did you know it was used somtimes as a tea strainer.
Shepherds use to use this too to strain hairs out of milk! There are so many different names for it - I've always known it as goosegrass. There's an account of an old lady in Staffordshire making goosegrass beer, which was known as ' Granny Holden's pop'! I did a wildflower folklore course a few weeks ago and 'studied' goosegrass for half an hour - each person in the group did a different plant then we each had a copy of the information sheet we produced for each plant - it's amazing how much there is to discover about everything and what you can learn in just a few minutes research - my books wish-list grew a lot that day! Sorry for rambling on anyway - I was meant to just say that I really like the composition here, but then I saw Maggie's comment and got carried away!!
Feel almost sorry for pulling the nettles, brambles and cleavers out.
