Freelensing

Get pushed from Ashley this week.

I've tried it once, but I then used my standard lens. Today I tried it with my 50mm. I really like the 'technique'. A bit grainy, blurry. Definitely something I'll try some more over the coming weekend.
@shesnapped first attempt, really like this challenge, will do some more coming weekend!

How does this work? It's lovely!

@domenicododaro take the lens of the body and hold it close in front of the camera body (a bit of a tilt, creates light leaks). I set aperture and exposure and ISO before taking lens off, and set the lens on infinity. It's a bit like a lensbaby effect. I'm going to try more in the weekend.

You're so open to trying new techniques. Before reading the comments I looked up the technique and desired effects. I think you acheived them.

Good start! Keep working with it, and look for opportunities with as much light as possible. Also try getting in as close to your subject as you can and adjusting your focus. That creates some really nice blur!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! You really are a great sport with all that you try!!!

Fun but isn't it a bit risky close to the sea?

@yrhenwr yes, taking lens of is a little risky with the chance of dust getting in your camera, sometimes I take a risk ;-)

@shesnapped thanks for the tips!

@overalvandaan Very positive. Good that you had done a risk assessment! If we play safe all the time we learn nothing!
