We kept it low profile and it was 'erg gezellig'. One of the mothers played the violin and we sang some Sinterklaas songs, we decorated 'speculaas' biscuits, a bag with some presents was dropped off by Zwarte Piet and we had a puppet show, presented by one of the older girls and her mother.
Sinterklaas his horse is like Santa's reindeers, they have a very important task of not only transporting Sinterklaas but also balancing on roof tops and make huge jumps to the next roofs. The judges (the children watching) had three criteria to look out for: soft, quiet and big enough to carry Sinterklaas. And you know who became the replacement?! Not the mouse, not the cockerel, not the hedgehog, but the... Unicorn!
