Calypso by pandorasecho

Calypso

This is from an old project when I designed 7 pillows to match the parrots we lived with. Calypso, a maroon belly, or red-bellied macaw, is a miniature macaw only about 10 inches from head to tip of tail. I wish I could sew them into a quilt, but since I've never sewed, I settled for glue and felt and fabric paint.
you have so much talent, Dixie. this is very beautiful. nice capture.

Wow, I am impressed! Great job designing this! Is that a button for the eye? It works perfectly!

Very nice! I bet you're resourceful enough that you could figure out a way to turn them into a quilt!

@wannabe Not a button but found a bag of these in the craft store, half round like a marble. Back flat except a peg sticking out. I cut a hole in the pillow and poked the peg in and glued the whole eye down with black fabric paint

that's very clever and very creative. like you, i don't know how to sew even if my life depended on it. but i have a glue gun and i don't hesitate to use it on anything that would tolerate a glue gun. and recently i also discovered the 'liquid thread', yup! a glue for fabrics, works like magic! nice vibrant colours on this project. i like it.
