My grandmother grew up on a farm in northern Illinois before moving to wyoming and when she would take me to visit her brothers she would pick catnip to make tea. It didn't grow in Wyoming and she'd miss it. I tried to grow it here and no luck so i dumped the flower pot out last fall and was surprised
it is so pretty. i have tried to grow it but as soon as it poked its head out of the ground my cats destroyed it. rolled all over it and it never had a chance to grow. never knew it looled like this.
Ok I googled catnip tea, it is a mint family member supposedly good for digestion, respiratory problems abd is a natural sedative. We just put leaves and flowers in water and boil and drink with honey. The pink flowers in the picture are because it is under the rhododendron
@sarasdadandmom Never heard of catnip? Not even in cat toys? @catsmeowb My cat ignores this but ignores catnip in any form. The cat I had previously went nuts over those little felt catnip mice
@olivetreeann we had that with a pumpkin once too, had one molding on the porch one october when the dogs dug a big hole in the yard. tossed in the pumpkin before refilling the hole and ended up with a vine and a few pumpkins the next year.
@pandorasecho That's exactly what happened to me- except I didn't have any dogs and I just tossed mine on the mulch pile! Come August we had 14 pumpkins!!
