Today we were on a Friday, in or around the house, which is where I have been all day. ALL d@ng day. Glued myself to the computer and worked the way through the kindle program and managed to get my book up and for sale on kindle today. Double Time: On The Oregon Trail is a book I started in 1998 or 1999 and kept not being able to complete. Then for the last two weeks it has managed to work for me. I've spent so many hours here that my legs hurt and really need a walk. Have a Good weekend to you all.
Tomorrow is my Mom's 73rd birthday, but she is back in Wyoming and I am on the Pacific. Miss her.
Oh! I didn't say, this is the journal I took notes in and the pictures I took back in 1999 when I thought this book would be done before the new millennium.
Good for you! I have so many people telling me to turn my 365 musings into a book. I wonder who in the world would buy the ramblings of a daydreamer like me! I love the quilt and journal- it definitely has the right feeling for your book!
Amazing quilt....and I bet every patch has a story...I used to like writing short tales too...but now find myself writing reports and month end summaries! Would rather write fiction! LOL Good luck on finishing your Oregon Trails.
This is such a gorgeous quilt and a lovely photo. Funny coincidence but I started a novel around the same time - 1999 & finally gave up a couple years ago. I am so happy to hear you stuck with it and are getting it published. Happy birthday to your mom!
@olivetreeann I type my books until I get them the way I want them, and have a few other people read and correct things, then convert to 6x9 inch borders and export to a PDF file that I can upload to CreateSpace.com. They do not charge if you it yourself except for the books you order. It is print on demand so you can order any number starting at 1. There is a $25 charge if you want it listed at Amazon and the other book store / library sites. But there are also great people on Facebook willing to talk about self publishing questions in some groups I'm in if you ever want to go that route
@pandorasecho Thank you so much for the info Dixie. I think self-publishing is probably the best thing for me to do right now. I am familiar with the "traditional" route and how difficult that is. But with FB and some of the other social media it's really not as hard to promote yourself as it used to be. Thanks again- Iet me know if there is someone in particular you think I should talk to and I will!
