A month with a lot of selfless selfless has to include the man I have lived with and loved for the last 30 years, and has to include the Pacific and has to happen outdoors. I'm here, wherever he is, no matter where my body may be at the moment.
Of course, while he is singing and lost in his music, I am writing and lost in my fantasy world too, so even though we spend a lot of time together, we give each other head space for the things only one of us really loves.
I've been working on a book since 1998 or 1999, and he never want to read it, but listens when I talk about it endlessly, and although I hate concerts a lot of the time, I go to the ones he does, and always end up glad I did.
Speaking of my writing, because I always am, here is a blog link about my work in progress that is nearing the end of the trail
Totally love the pov and your comment on this one, Dixie. That is why some marriages last forever. It's all about love, respect, and compromise. A gorgeous setting and, like I said, the pov is perfect. P.S. Got to read some of your draft and please let me know when it's published!! Sounds great.
I am married to a music man too- although he does not make his living at it. We often writing and playing at the same time too. I think he wishes I would just sit and listen like I did when we were dating- but some things do change with time! I like how you've captured him looking off to the sea- dreaming- as all artistic people usually do. Great shot!
do i envy you on the music aspect. this one with me has no music in his body at all. can't even sing so he can appreciate when i am singing or when i'm listening to music. but we take what's given to us. i love the dream like quality of this photo. second time today this perception i've encountered. dream-like, yes. very nice, dixie. i like it.
I love how his shorts end where the water starts! :-) Thanks for sharing - hopefully I'll be where you are (figuritively, not physically) in another 25 years!
