Hart Mountain by pandorasecho

Hart Mountain

Also spelled Heart at times, was the view from my bedroom window growing up, there is a side view that looks very different that was seen by the Japanese interred in Hart Mountain Relocation Camp in WW II.

This Mountain is upside down, the oldest rocks are on top of the youngest. It was bulldozed up by a glacier in the ice ages

Just saw this interesting article. http://www.rafu.com/2015/05/through-the-fire-the-lure-of-heart-mountain/

Three good things
1. Summer school jobs for my son and husband mean we won't end up too penniless.
2. Rain today, in California here on the coast
3. A quiet evening after a busy school day
An impressive scene, stark but has beauty.

Any rain in California is good. Thanks for sharing the history. That's a pretty desolate sight. Is it near Oroville?

Very barren and dry looking. I am glad you are getting some much needed rain.

I didn't know that bit of history. So nice to get a history lesson with a photo to go along with it.
