I can imagine how scary this must have been. Interesting and descriptive photos. I worked at a elementary school in San Diego for awhile that was just up the hill from the ocean. (I had a lovely view of the ocean from my desk..... that's how close we were. We had earthquake drills like every other school.... We also had tsunami drills.
Now that your reconstruction has begun they'll have to add another after picture- maybe after after! It probably takes a lot of adjustment to seeing something you're familiar with after a natural disaster like this. It will never look the same again.
