Succulent Pink Waves by pasadenarose

Succulent Pink Waves

Meanwhile, back at my favorite nature park...

I stopped at my new favorite photo op spot, after a so-so attempt at some shots at a standard neighborhood park nearby.
Before I even stepped off the sidewalk and into the park, I saw an Asian man in the park with a camera in hand. Ah, a likeminded spirit. :-)

I wandered along under gray skies, shooting some interesting plants. Eventually we neared each other, and I held up my dinky P&S and commented that some day I hoped to have serious equipment like he did. His lens was about a foot long, and had a scalloped sort of end on it. I'm too ignorant to even know what that means.

His English wasn't the best, but I understood him to say he was photographing hummingbirds. When he saw that I was interested, he brought a few up on his screen. VERY nice shots he had there. I soon wished him good luck and we continued on.

This is but one of many succulents I encountered today. I fell in love with its delicate colors.
There were also many trees dressed in brilliant fall colors, and flowers in bloom, including iris.

I had great trouble deciding which shot to post so I made a leap.
Leaped where you ask?

Well look up and to the right.
What's that??
Could it be ACE next to my name? Yep, I now have 3 albums for my photo pleasure. An early Christmas present to me. LOL

Not sure when I will start using the extra albums. Sorta need to figure out what I want them to be when they grow up.

How pretty. Did you tag it for this weeks floura/fauna theme?

@btorrey
Thanks for the head's up. :-)

@btorrey
Ooops, nevermind. I think I need to remove the tag. It doesn't fall within the dates.
But that's fine, because while I was looking around to see where I add a tag, I noticed where the picmonkey editor is. I had NO clue where to find that since I upgraded my account.

I saw this while browsing the flora/fauna entries and it caught my eye - it's so pretty and delicate. I love the blend of the green and pink. It' a great capture! And that's awesome with Ace. I'm thinking when I hit 6 months, I'll reward myself with one too - extra motivation to keep going. You can get some really great shots with a P&S, as this photo is proof of!

Great colours. Good to see in the winter months.

I've tried repeatedly to erase the flora-fauna tag and it won't vacate the premises.

Gorgeous shot and I love your narrative! Congrats on Ace membership, its fun here and gives you a chance to add more than the standard 365 photos a year! I don't use mine everyday, but it has been great to share extra things in my additional album!
