This happened whilst taking photographs this morning tried all the recommendations on the internet, none have fixed the problem, would appear to be a faulty shutter, its out of warranty so will be sending it off for repair to the approved Sony repairers in London tomorrow.
...you tried taking the card out...maybe putting another card in and turning it on again? So very very sorry...this group would certainly feel your pain!
@Weezilou Thank you Louise for your advise, tried differnet cards, lens and batteries even a software update, non of which worked hence I will be sending it off on Monday could be away upto three weeks or maybe need to replace it, but after all its only time and money nothing to get stressed about:)
@novab Thank you for your lovely words Nova, I spoke to the repair technician this morning and it would not seem to be such a big issue, he will strip the camera when it arrives there and assess the problem,if the shutter is the only problem I should have it back nexted week:)
@onewing Thank you Babs, according to the repair technician they can fix almost any problem within one week if the part required is in stock, if it needs to be ordered in should be fixed in three weeks at most, but what ever the problem they will give me a fixed price quote then its up to me to give the go ahead:)
I know the feeling! My Nikon D7100 gave up the ghost a few years ago but as it was only just out of 2 years warranty John Lewis gave me a refund which I was very surprised and pleased about. I hope you get it back soon
@rosiekind Its not a very nice feeling at all but still its nice to hear John Lewis came through for you Rosie with a refund , my camera came with a 3 year warranty and its just out of that, I did check first but its not covered now, I just have to wait to see how much the repair will be:)
