Bombo

...rocks and sea.

The beauty of large format film photography is the immense amount of detail contained within a photo. Much more than digital.

Taken with Toyo-Field 45CF and Nikkor-W 135mm lens at f.64 for 1/4 sec on Fomopan 100. Developed with D76 1:1 for 10 mins at 21C.

I think to get seriously back into film again, it would, have to be, medium or large format.

@jase_h whu not try getting an inexpensive medium format camera to begin with like a TLR

Any recommendations on what to look for?

@jase_h my TLR suggestion always to find a Yashica. The lenses are great. There are lots around. Don't worry about the 635. The idea of shooting 35mm in one is just too hard. The 124Gs are highly regarded but can be pricier because of light meter but these can create problems. I'd go for an Yashicha A or D, and use a light meter. They can be had cheaply and lots of them around in UK. For lots of photography students a Yashica was way to achieve decent results with paying for a Rollei. If you spot a cheap Airesflex or Aires Reflex grab it. I would then get a roll Ilford FP4+ or XP2 and give it a go.

Thanks Peter, I will keep an eye on Ebay. Have you come across Kurt Sadjina on flickr, I may have mentioned him before, amazing stuff with his medium format cam's

@peterdegraaff haven't seen before. MF is incredibly versatile just can take a bit more time to compose. Slowing down can be a better thing. I like using in street
